We understand that eating healthy goes beyond what to eat, which is why we also help you understand the importance how to eat. Our Approach to Healing Emotional Eating

One of my favorite sayings is: “If you drive on the shoulder, it doesn’t mean you should drive your car off a cliff.” Meaning, if you make a small mistake, just self-correct, don’t take it to the extreme. Yet with eating this can be SO hard not to do. When some make what they would consider an eating mistake, then all bets are off. Enter: yo-yo diet and binge eating. How to escape?

In our 9 chapter program (PDF format), you spend week or more focusing on the chapter’s primary topic, working towards improving your consistency. When you feel comfortable with applying the content from the focus topic, you move on to the next. Topics range from: relaxation, quality, awareness, pleasure, time, story, rhythm and more. Each topic will provide you detail on how hormonal, digestion and metabolism intersect in 3-5 concise pages. You can expect a lot of reflective questions and journaling. During each of our weekly appointments we will recap what the chapter covered and discuss what you found most interesting and applicable. Clients create their goals around what is most relevant to them for each topic. See what our previous clients have to say about our unique Healing Emotional Eating program:

I encourage anyone to start here with Miranda for your lifetime journey. Start on the right foot and learn so much about food, health and yourself. “Thrive Nutrition exudes warmth and will absolutely accept you where you are without judgment or expectation. You will grow at your own pace, never trapped into some kind of ridiculous food plan or forced to be someone other than who you are. For me, the process was liberating. My results (which were significant, in terms of weight loss) were trumped by a sense of freedom from negative self-beliefs and distorted food attitudes.”

Ben, Enfield CT

“Thrive exceeded every expectation I had about working with a nutritionist! After years of dieting and "failing", I knew I needed to try something else. Thrive helped me truly learn nutrition and body acceptance. My nutritionist offered everything I needed to heal my relationship with food including insight, education, support, and honesty without an once of judgement.”
